Classical Performance at the Odessa Opera House
Duration: Approx. 2.5 hours.

     The former Soviet republics are world-renowned for their achievements in the performing arts and are especially famous for their fine ballet companies.

By special arrangements, a classical performance will be staged for you enjoyment at the gracious Opera House. The opulent theater ranks in grandeur with St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky (formerly Kirov) and Moscow’s Bolshoi.

     You will also see the interior of the theater. Completed in 1887, the baroque-style building resembles the Vienna Opera House and Dresden Court Theater, and was designed by the same architects. Its interior is lavishly decorated in Louis XVI style and its ceiling frescoes depict Shakespearean scenes.
     Following the performance, return to the ship.

Note: Exact details of the performance will not be known until after arrival in Odessa. The schedule appearance can be a ballet, opera, choral, or folk presentation. No matter what is presented, however, the production and artists are always outstanding.
